We have built a proprietary, advanced indoor growing system with precision controls to enable unparalleled performance for our plants. Our fully-controlled environment includes our advanced custom lighting arrays, automated nutrient delivery system, and custom HVAC and building design. Our unique approach to fully protected agriculture means that we can grow all year round irrespective of climate and weather conditions, while using zero pesticides, herbicides and fungicides with unprecedented levels of food safety.

Our deep understanding of plant biology gives us the ability to optimize plant performance, cultivate new varieties, consistently improve quality, lower costs and optimize efficiency. Furthermore, we are working on selecting, optimizing and designing plants for optimal indoor production, using our fully-controlled platform for speed breeding and genetic development.

We have developed a patented, reusable cloth medium for seeding, germinating, growing, and harvesting leafy greens. Our commercial growing cloth medium is made out of BPA-free, post-consumer recycled plastic, each taking 350 (16.9 oz) water bottles out of the waste stream. The cloth can be fully sanitized after harvest and reseeded to minimize any risk of contamination, acting as a barrier between the mist and the plants. 

We use our proprietary aeroponic technology to mist the roots of our plants with targeted nutrients, water, and oxygen. Our aeroponic system is a closed loop system, using up to 95% less water for leafy greens than field farming and even less than hydroponics, as well as a fraction of the fertilizers.

We use our own proprietary LED lighting to create a custom light algorithm for each plant, giving them exactly the spectrum, intensity, and frequency they need for photosynthesis in the most energy-efficient way possible. Our unique horticulture luminaire and LED technology allows us to optimize the size, shape, texture, color, flavor, and nutrition of our plants with razor-sharp precision and increased productivity.

The size and configuration of an AeroFarms growing platform are highly customizable. The systems are comprised of modules that serve as building blocks that can be stacked vertically. This allows us to grow in varied locations and achieve up to 390X the yield per square foot. Our plant scientists monitor millions of data points every harvest. They are constantly reviewing, testing and improving our growing system using predictive analytics to create a superior and consistent result. We utilize and have developed cutting-edge approaches to machine vision, machine learning and IoT integration, bringing agriculture into the future at a rapid pace. Our digital controls include an integrated algorithm for every stage of growth as well as our proprietary agSTACK software with integrated PLC and SCADA systems, allowing for a fully-connected farm.
