PBS Newshour Student Reporting Labs Covers AeroFarms

One year ago, a group of student journalists visited one of our Newark farms to film a news segment for the PBS Newshour Student Reporting Lab and the story is out!  It is an especially exciting new piece for us because some of the students who produced it have also tended the AeroFarms growing tower in the school’s cafeteria.  Check out the finished report below and read our original blog post about filming day here.

Indoor farming is a potential answer to urban “food deserts,” but the technology still faces challenges. One company in Newark, New Jersey is trying to prove that it can grow leafy produce indoors in a way that that is both tasty and sustainable.
